HOW TO AND FREE COMPLAINTS LETTER
The collapse of Wonga has turned payday loans into front page news, but what can you do if you want to make a complaint about a mis-sold loan? Is Wonga a lost cause or do you still have a chance of getting money back?
The good news is that you can still make a complaint against Wonga if you believe you were sold an unaffordable payday loan, even if you have now paid it off.

WHAT COUNTS AS AN UNAFFORDABLE WONGA LOAN?
An unaffordable loan is any loan that you struggled to pay, even if you managed to pay it back. This could mean that you had to borrow further to pay the loan, or cut back on rent, energy bills and food to pay it.
If you think that this applies to you then you have the right to make a complaint and ask that interest and charges are refunded to you. If this complaint is upheld then you can also have the loan removed from your credit file.
HOW MUCH COULD I GET FROM WONGA IN COMPENSATION?
The bad news is that if your complaint about a loan you have paid off is upheld then you will be joining a queue of unsecured creditors. But this does not mean that you should not complain. If you don’t make a complaint then you definitely won’t receive any money back.
If your complaint is about a loan you are still paying, then there is a chance that the Wonga administrator may offset any money back you are owed against the existing loan.
You should, however, continue paying off any Wonga loans until informed otherwise. If you do not then you risk being charged and your credit record will be affected.
